WHAT IS JRE?
42 years of gastronomic tradition
Nicole Seitz, Head of Communications at the famous French company Grand Marnier from 1953 to 1998, visited most of the leading French restaurants due to her work. She gradually became friends with great chefs and their children, and they told her they wished to socialize and meet with other chef's children. She was sure that Gradn Marnier, as a company that always gave a lot of attention to the wishes of its clients, can help young chefs in their efforts and support the exchange of culinary knowledge in order to strengthen the spirit of solidarity and friendship. Thus, in 1974, she founded an association of young chefs, restaurant owners, called Jeunes Restaurateurs d'Europe (in translation: "Young chefs of Europe"), which has since then developed into one of the elite associations of high gastronomy.
Today, after 42 years of continuous existence and growth, Jeunes Restaurateurs d'Europe has 340 chefs who live and work in 16 European countries. Of those 340 chefs, 160 of them have Michelin stars.
Only 13 restaurants in Croatia meet the standards of those restaurants, and those are:
Zigante Livade, San Rocco Brtonigla, Pergola Savudrija, Marina Novigrad, Monte Rovinj, Draga di Lovrana Lovran, Plavi podrum Volosko, Boškinac Pag, Foša Zadar, Pelegrini Šibenik, Paradigma Split, Dubravkin put Zagreb, Bistro Apetit Zagreb.
